Title
AWL
Description
English: The ventral face has a bulb and flake removals above it. The dorsal face has two flake removals to flatten it, a long, almost abrupt flake removal to the left and an abrupt removal to the right, which sweeps upwards towards the point. The point ha sbeen retouched on the right margin and is broken at the tip. The left dorsal margin has abrupt retouch from the dorsal face and at the distal third, semi-abrupt retouch from the ventral face. The piece is abraded, but could have been an effective saw, with a denticulated edge.

It is made from a grey flint. It was probably derived from a local beach pebble by the look of its secondary cortex.

Bond (2004) ha sa similar piece illustrated on Page 57 Fig 5.28 No L132 which he calls a piercer on a distal point on a flake and places in the later Neolithic to early Bronze Age
