At last the dishes were set on,and grace was said. It was succeeded by abreathless pause, as Mrs. Cratchit, lookingslowly all along the carving-knife, preparedto plunge it in the breast ; but when she did,and when the long expected gush of stuffingissued forth, one murmur of delight aroseall round the board, and even Tiny Tim, ex-cited by the two young Cratchits, beat on thetable with the handle of his knife, and feeblycried Hurrah !
