English: Onlookers watch in amazement as an Afghan doctor performs a complex orthopedic surgery with only a little guidance from U.S. doctors, which was a first for the facility, at Camp Hero's Kandahar Regional Military Hospital Nov. 17. During the last two years, the hospital has transformed from a barely operable hospital in a school, to a full blown facility, serving service members and their family members from the Afghan National Army and the Afghan National Police. While the hospital is still under construction, officials plan to continue their development and level of service, to provide better care for Afghan service members. |
