A House, Jammu City, Jammu, ca.1875-ca.1940
Photograph of a woman standing outside a small clay house. The house has a sloping wooden roof and there is a stone wall outside. There is a door and three small windows to the front of the house.; This belongs to a series of Church of Scotland Foreign Missions Committee lantern slides relating to Jammu City, which is also known as the "City of Temples". A mission station occupied by Church of Scotland missionaries was founded here in the late 19th/early 20th century. Jammu is also one of the three administrative divisions within Jammu and Kashmir, the northernmost state in India.
