English: A Middle East Soldier Revisits Britain- Life in Wartime Leeds, England, UK, 1943
A general view of Leeds City Square, dominated by the General Post Office, with a bus stand just visible on the left. In the centre of the photograph can be seen the statue of the Black Prince. Three of the four other statues that can be found in the Square can be seen. The four statues are of Joseph Priestley, Walter Farquar Hook, James Watt and John Harrison. A large noticeboard can be seen towards the right of the photograph. This sign was erected by Leeds City Parks Department and features details about the Holidays at Home programme in the city. Events include a Big Top, summer variety theatres, Sunday concerts and open air entertainments. There are to be special attractions in August.
