A Post Medieval copper alloy buckle |
||
Description |
English: A Medieval (AD c.1350-1450) double oval copper alloy buckle. The pin is missing and the buckle has part of the strap plate remaining. On each side of the pin notch on the strap plate, there is a raised linear decoration. The letters D V are embossed on the strap plate, which may be the maker’s mark. The frame has moulded decoration on either side of the iron cross bar, the pin was also possibly iron.
