A Post Medieval copper alloy single looped buckle
Description
English: A Post Medieval copper alloy case buckle. The buckle is sub rectangular in shape, has expanded splayed feet and a recessed strap bar. The front of the frame is expanded with a large lozenge shaped knop with insised decoration. The buckle is 33.3mm long, 25.6mm wide, 2.4mm thick and weighs 6.5grams. A similar example can be seen in Whitehead, ref 153, page 28.
