Title
A Post Medieval iron strike-a-light probably dating to the 17th century.
Description
English: A Post Medieval iron strike-a-light probably dating to the 17th century. The strike-a-light or fire steel has a sub-rectangular striking plate and a recurved handle with a spiral terminal. The entire piece has a rectangular cross-section and the striking plate has rounded lower corners and an angular end. There is some damage and deterioration to the iron but there appears to be some grooves in the striking plate which may be caused by use.

Dimensions: length: 64.43mm; width: 36.66mm; thickness: 4.65mm; weight: 29.33g.
