Title
A Post Medieval lead alloy cloak button and bar (17th century). The LON-4281A5
Description
English: A Post Medieval lead alloy cloak button and bar (17th century). The button has a circular face with a loop soldered onto the reverse. A circular bar of lead alloy is secured through the loop. Geoff Egan suggests this is a cloak button and that originally there would have been a second button that the bar also passed through and then the bar was twisted to form a loop. The bar on this example does not show evidence of having been manipulated in this way.

Dimensions: Diameter: 34.43mm; length: 70.93mm; weight: 15.83g.
