Title
A Post Medieval silver button (16th century). 2008T435
Description
English: A Post Medieval silver button (16th century).

Curator's report: A bi-convex button of silver-gilt sheet, with a nipple on top. The wire loop on the bottom has what appears to be a crimped impression, and is possibly a false hallmark.

Discussion: Silver buttons of this type have been reported as treasure (cf. TAR 2003, no. 223) and base-metal varieties through the Portable Antiquities Scheme (cf. YORYM-41C482) .
