Description
English:
A burro being packed for a desert ride, Grand Canyon, 1900
Photograph of a burro being packed for a desert ride at Bass Mystic Springs, Grand Canyon, 1900. Bass steadies himself by placing his right foot on the burros hind quarters as he tightens a diamond hitch while tethering the pack to the burro. Another man assists with the pack beside the burro. The surrounding landscape includes two scraggly trees with no leaves, brush and bushes on a rocky slope behind the men, and towering rock formations shaped by erosion in the distance.
