A cast copper-alloy casket key from the Medieval period
Description
English: A cast copper-alloy key for a casket or other small lock dating from the Medieval period. The key has a shoulder circular looped bow and a cylindrical stem with a hollow tip, which is oval in section. The bit has asymmetric clefs and channels and is S-shape in profile. Width of stem 5.22mm Bit 9 x 9.6 x 4 mm (Egan 1998: 111-2 No. 298)
