Description |
English: A cast copper alloy Post Medieval trapezoidal buckle. The buckle comprises of the frame, whole, and and the upper portion of the pin, which is broken just below the head. The frame is quarter hemispherical in section (bevelled outer edge, straight inner edge and slight concave bottom edge). There is a knop at each end of the centre strap bar, with a corrospoding recess on the reverse. The pin is D shape in secttion and folds over the strap bar. The buckle was tinned, most of which is now gone. The buckle is in fair condition and has a light green patina all over, with dark some green patches. It measures 32.91 mm L x 25.21 mm W x 2.75 mm TH and weighs 4.95 g.
