Title
A cast copper alloy tinned Post Medieval buckle
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper alloy Post Medieval buckle, from 1550-1650 AD. It is a double loop oval buckle with a moulded lonzenge shaped lobe on the centre of the outer edge. The central bar strap is narrow and recessed. The buckle is tinned, giving it a grey colour with patches of red corrosion. It is incomplete, with old breaks occuring at the base of the central bar, and along the opposite arm on the same side of the buckle; only one loop survives. It measures 35.7 mm L x 21.9 mm W x 1.7 mm TH and weighs 3.6 g.

See Whitehead 1996, no 373 for a parallel.
