Just as he spake thesewords a young maid came to the well and whenhe said, Let me drink, I pray thee; she gave himas much as he could drink and then filled thetrough for his beasts. Then he knew7 she wasthe maid that God chose, so he gave her gifts ofgold, and asked her whose child she was. Whenhe found her folks were kin to A-bram he wenthome with her and told them A-bram was richand good and had sent him there to find a wrifefor his son. They said Re-bek-ah (that was thegirls name) might wed I-saac if she chose, soshe went back with the man and I-saac made herhis wife, and loved her very much. Two sonswere born to I-saac and Re-bek-ah ; they weretwins.
