Title
A copper alloy handle fragment from a cauldron of Medieval or Post-Medieval date
Description
English: A copper alloy handle fragment from a cauldron of Medieval or Post-Medieval date (c. AD 1150 - 1650). The handle was originally L-shaped and has broken just by the bend. The handle is oval in cross-section. The fragment has corroded to a mid/dark-grey colour with patches of green corrosion product and extensive black sooting.

The handle fragment measures 60.8mm in length, with a diameter of 15.0mm and a weight of 82.45g.

It is comparable with an L-shaped cauldron lug handle illustrated in Butler et al. (2009, p. 5; no. 3a).
