Theseplaces have combined to make thepresent Saskatoon by special act ofthe provincial legislature. The citj is divided into four wardsand each ward is represented in theniLinicipal council by two aldermenJames Clinkskill liad the honor of be-ing the citys first mayor, and in thecouncil with liini were the late Thos. Cooland, W. J. Bell, R B. Irvine, J.H. Thompson, Vy. H. Coy, F. A.Blain, Wm. Hopkins and John Ash-worth. On the death of Mr. Coplandin the earlj^ fall Dr. H. E. Munroewas elected to complete the term.

Thethree great trans-continental systems of Can-ada have one and all defi-nite plans for building theirlines right into the city.The Canadian Northernnow serves the city, andboth the Canadian Pacificand the Grand Trunk Paci-fic are engaged in the ac-tual work of constructing their bridgesover the Saskatchewan into Saska-toon. The C. P. R. have a line built25 miles west of the city on the wayto Wetaskiwin and are built from theeast rii^ht up to Strassburg, 100 mileseast of Saskatoon, and have definitelyset aside funds for completing theline into the city by September of A Divisional Point for theCanadian Northern, theCanadian Pacific and theGrand Trunk Pacific-Pro-vincial Centre of Operation Saskatoon to Prince Albert has alsobeen granted and that line as well willbefewfactsaboutcit00sask
