manuscript discussionof doctrinal questions, twenty-two of which he asksand answers. The paper is too long for insertionhere, and must be left for subsequent publication. After he had provided for the poor widow he washappy and on March 20, 1803, in the presence of hiswife and many of his children and grandchildren hequietly closed his eyes to the familiar scenes aroundhim to open them in wonder and in joy in the pres-ence of his God. So strongly was he impressed with the date of hisdeath that he composed his own epitaph and notedon it the year of his death, 1802, leaving the monthand day blank. He lived only a few months beyondthe day he noted. He was seldom known to visiteven the family of his daughter Hannah Weber wholived in Germantown. But late in 1802, one Sundayafter services he went to her home for dinner. Afterhe had spent some time with her he called her asideand gave her a slip of paper containing in his own (i) Original MS. from the Cassel collection now in my possession.
