Title
A late Post Medieval silver shoe buckle (18th century, post 1709).
Description
English: A late Post Medieval silver shoe buckle (18th century, post 1709). The buckle has an oval frame with separate cross bar hinged between two sockets on the frame. The sockets are set below the frame, so the cross bar projects beneath the frame rather than sitting in between the two sides of the frame. The tongue is integral to a roller which rotates around the cross bar. There are no hall marks visible. This is not Treasure as it is less than 300 years old – Geoff Egan.

Identification by Geoff Egan, PAS Finds Advisor Medieval and Post Medieval Artefacts.
