Title
A post-Medieval button or weight
Description
English: A cast copper alloy, spherical artefact, possibly a button of late Medieval or early post-Medieval date, about AD 1450 - 1600. It consists of a carefully cast, solid sphere with an integral, circular suspension loop. The weight of the artefact, together with the degree of care taken in its casting, suggests that it may alternatively be a small weight, perhaps a steelyard weight. It is 21.2mm long and 13.5mm in diameter. It weighs 12.45gm or 0.4oz.

Compare SF-AC2FD1, BERK-80D372 and LIN-FE7713 (buttons) and DENO-9D25F3 and SWYOR-35E906 (weights). The object could also be a plumb-bob.
