Description
English: A post medieval copper alloy spur buckle dating to the 17th century. This is an oval buckle with a cross bar attached to which is the narrow plate with integral stud for attachment. The buckle frame has decorative reel mouldings at the junction with the cross bar. The iron pin is missing. The buckle plate is attached the cross bar of the frame and then tapers to form a rounded point with a waisted section in the middle. It attaches to the frame by an iron cross bar. At the end of the buckle plate is the integral stud for attachment and this has a circular head.

Dimensions: frame length: 33.21mm; frame width: 22.95 mm; frame thickness: 3.39 mm; plate length: 28.99 mm; plate width: 12.14 mm; plate thickness: 2.66 mm; weight: 15.36g.
