Title
A post medieval iron double-looped buckle dating between 17th-18th century.
Description
English: A post medieval iron double-looped buckle dating between 17th-18th century. The outer frames are D-shaped with a cast integral crossbar. The crossbar flares out from the frame with a constriction in the centre for the pin. Part of the pin remains and consists of an iron strip wound around the crossbar to make a loop. The outer frame is slightly convex with hollow groves running down the centre of the inside frame edges. Part of the left loop is broken and there is orange pattination over much of the surface. The frame is also slightly bent.

A similar example can be found in Egan (2005, no. 83).

Dimensions: length: 26.70 mm; width: 26.43 mm; thickness: 1.65 mm; weight: 2.89g.
