ate sides through the 5on needle until you reach the end; then draw 10 through 10 andfasten, leaving the outside ends of 20 loops for bottom and top.Make 3 strips in this way, join by sewing the crocheted edges to thenarrow ribbon strips (each 30 inches long), turn under and hem theraw ends of the latter, then tie a pretty bow of the wide ribbonaround the centre of tidy, drawing it together. Very quickly made, and very pretty; the flax threads are lovelyfor them, rich and silky. With a little ingenuity very nandsome throws, toilet-cushion cov-ers, night-robe sachets, etc., can be made with this lace. CHEMISE YOKE.(Contributed by Mrs. Anna P. Clark, Colmar, Pa.) Materials : 2 spools Barbours flax thread, No. 70, 3-cord, 200-yards spools, and a fine steel hook. The yoke is formed by 36 wheels,— 7 for front, 7 for back, 6 overeach shoulder, 4 under the arm, and 1 under joining of 4th and 5th(under the arm) to form point of sleeve. Ch 3, 2 tc under 1 ch, * ch 1, 3 tc under next 1 ch, repeatfrom * 16 times, ch 1 and fasten in top of 3 ch. 4. * Ch 9, 1 sc in 1 ch between groups of 3 tc, repeat from *1 7 times, break thread and fasten. In the last row of each wheelafter the 1st, * ch 4, catch with sc in centre of 9 ch of precedingwheel, ch 4, fasten under 1 ch in wheel you are working, repeat fromlast * 3 times, then finish the wheel. Join the wheels together asworked, in this way, to shape the yoke.
