If ithappens, that the Veffels of the Proftatebleed, dry Lint, or Lint dipped in fomeftyptick Water, fuch as Aqua Vitriol^ muftbe applied to the Part, and held there witha considerable degree of PrefTure for a fewHours, or as I have before mentioned, aiilver Canula of three or four Inches long,covered with fine Rag, may be introducedinto the Bladder and left there two or threeDays, which feldom fails to Hop the He-morrhage. The Patient may alfo take anOpiate. If the Wound does not bleed, alittle dry Lint, or a Pledgit of Digeilive,laid gently in it, is heft. The Place wherethe Patient lies fhould be moderately cool,as Heat not only difpofesthe Veffels to bleedafre(h, but generally makes him low andfaint. If foon after the Operation, hecomplains of a Sicknefs at the Stomach, or.even a Pain in that Part of the Abdomennear the Bladder, tis not always a fign ofa dangerous Inflammation, but frequentlygoes off in half an Hour : To affift howeverin its removal, a Fomentation put into an Hogs
