English: Army veteran Margaux Mange, Army Reserve Capt. Lacey Hamilton, and Army veteran Ashley Crandall, pose for a photo after winning medals in the Women's Open Bicycle category of the Warrior Games, May 12, 2013, at COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The day-long cycling event consisted of seven categories in which wounded, ill or injured soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors and soldiers of the British armed forces competed for the gold. Throughout the week of the games, more than 260 wounded, ill or injured service members from across the Department of Defense and British Armed Forces will compete in track and field, sitting volleyball, shooting, swimming, archery and wheelchair basketball events. The 2013 Warrior Games is intended to help service members advance their recovery by helping them overcome challenges associated with their physical injuries or illnesses. |
