Description
English: Open cotton bud or "trefoil" variant. Complete. At one end (top.) the cotton in spiral form has a lobe curving inward in an anticlockwise direction. Two round-ended lobes across the middle have a rounded-rectangular bar across the centre. The surfaces of these features are textured with indented dots. At the base is a triangle with a rounded apex, representing the stem. The clay has fired to a grey -black. The lower end has an oblique break surface through the stem. The back is slightly concave. Back and stem dark-fired. White pigment survives in the textural dots. Yellow is found in the lower dots of the rectangle, on the stem and in the back concavity. Red pigment has been applied to the edges of the front and more extensively on the back.
