Description
English: Albrecht Durer B.146 1895.1.22.730Medium includes grey wash. Copy after Albrecht Dürer "Saint Antonius in front of the city" from 1519. The view of the city in the background was copied. Dürer combined the cityscape from various set pieces. Elements from earlier drawings of the cities of Innsbruck and Trento can be recognized, as can the Nuremberg Imperial Castle.
Deutsch: Kopie nach Albrecht Dürer "Der heilige Antonius vor der Stadt" von 1519. Kopiert wurde die Stadtansicht im Hintergrund. Die Stadtansicht kombinierte Dürer aus verschiedenen Versatzstücken. Elemente aus früheren Zeichnungen der Städte Innsbruck und Trient lassen sich erkennen ebenso wie die Nürnberger Kaiserburg.
