Where flour is measured by cups, the cup is filled with a spoon, and a level cupful isleant. A tablespoonful or teaspoonful of any designated material is a LEVEL spoonful. Egg-and-Caviare Canapes STAMP out rounds from slices ofbread cut one-fourth an inchthick; spread these with butterand let brown in the oven; then chill andspread the chilled croutons with plaincaviare or with caviare seasoned witha few drops, each, of onion and lemonjuice. Have ready baskets shaped fromhard-cooked eggs, from which the yolkshave been removed. Fill the basketswith sauce tartare (mayonnaise mixedwith half its bulk of fine-choppedpickles, olives, capers, parsley andchives), set a choice slice of tomatoabove the caviare on the croutons andthe basket on the tomato.
