The patient lies with thehead on a platform of hard fiber, with a pillow beneath theshoulders and a small sand-bag under the head and neck. J,containing the indicator is brought down in position. The in-dicating ball, G, is now roughly adjusted until it is opposite thecenter of the cornea and about 12 or 15 mm. distant.
