Description |
English: An Early Medieval copper alloy buckle plate dating to the sixth to seventh century. The buckle is triangular in plan with three raised circular knobs at each of the corners. There two rivet holes present along the top edge of the plate. The front of the plate is decorated with a dot and ring design; one row down the centre of the plate and two others along the outer edges. The reverse of the plate is plain with two rectangular integral attachment knops protruding from the centre. The buckle plate is 46.9mm long, 23.6mm wide, 2.1mm thick and weighs 12.8 grams.
The buckle fits into Marzinzik's Typegroup II.23 (2003). |
