Title
An early Modern copper alloy button possibly showing Charles II LON-D3B887
Description
English: A Post Medieval copper alloy button probably showing Charles II (late 17th century). The button is discoidal with a convex front and concave back. The front surface is decorated with a moulded-in-relief profile right bust of (probably) King Charles II. On the reverse is a perforated rectangular shank with rounded end for attachment. Part of an iron loop is concreted to the perforation on the shank.

This example is very similar to no.169 illustrated in Read (2005:48) that is dated late 17th century.

Dimensions: diameter: 26.89mm; thickness: 8.91mm; weight: 9.39g.
