Title |
Anglo-Saxon Sceat Series B Imitation |
||
Description |
English: A silver Anglo-Saxon Primary Phase sceat; probable contemporary imitation Series B combining an obverse die derived from Series BX with a reverse loosely based upon Series B.
Dr. Martin Allen (Fitzwilliam Museum) notes that the form of the cross and extra annulets around it are unlike any regular coin from Series B. Similar to British Museum types 26-27a-b. |
