Title
Anglo-Scandinavian strap end
Description
English: Cast copper-alloy zoomorphic strap end, Thomas Class B, Type 4. The strap end has a flat rectangular body with a single copper alloy rivet in the centre at the attachment end. The terminal is in the form of an animals head. The head has pronounced moulded ears, both crescentric with a grooved interior and a single dot below. Two trapezoidal panels are located beneath the ears, each containing a dot in the centre depicting the eyes. A rectangular panel containing a dot in the centre below the eyes depicts the bridge of the nose. The bridge of the nose then splits into two lines, each terminating with snouts that in style are basically reversed ears.
