Turûtn ptrKt- Baujtum .1 (85) Planche soixante-onzième. — Vue prise à Naples danslune des grottes du Pau si lippe , près du palais de lareine Jeanne ; par M. Turpin de Crissé. Pausilîppe, colline célèbre, située le long du bassinde Naples, du côté du couchant, offre laspect le plusriant. Elle est couverte de belles maisons et de jardinstoujours verts , que la situation de la montagne metà couvert des vents du midi. Ce quelle offre de plus singulier est le chemincreusé au travers le roc , et connu sous le nom deGrotte du Pausilippe. Il a neuf cent soixante pas delongueur, sur trente pieds de largeur et cinquante dehauteur. On croit que cet immense ouvrage , dontlorigine est inconnue , fut entrepris pour abréger lechemin de Pouzzol à Naples. Lauteur du tableau dont nous donnons ici la gra-vure , M. Turpin de Crissé , en a exposé quelquesautres qui , de même que celui-ci , font concevoirsur ce jeune artiste les plus heureuses espérances. Ontrouve dans ses ouvrages un
