Thedemand for maskalonge is constantly increasing; it has never been satis-factorily supplied, and it cannot be fully met without an ample supply ofsuitable water. The efficiency of the station could be still further augmented by intro-ducing more hatching troughs and jars. The work could be increasedby fully one-third by making the necessary additions to the stationequipment. Caledonia Hatchery. This great station has been much improved by the introduction of acement floor which now furnishes a solid foundation supporting the greatweight of the hatching troughs. Cement walks have been laid around thebuilding along one side and one end; the lining of the icehouse has beenrenewed; the rearing ponds have been repaired; the main hatchery hasbeen shingled, and necessary painting has been done.
