erse together, or gaze upwards, carrying vases or boughs of foliage ;others are kindling the flames of the can-delabra, or sprinkling incense on thosealready burning. Above them is a broadbelt of clouds, and then a huge garlandof figures, a vast glory of saints and angels, crowding round the ascending Virgin, whosoars upwards towards the radiant sky, whence a youthful angel descends in rapidflight to greet her.
