Description
English: Artifact from around 2nd Century, found in Aquincum (Hungary), a roman legion and civilian site of the Roman Empire.
Deutsch: Büste eines lachenden Jungen, gefunden in Aquincum, der römischen Vorgängerstadt von Budapest. Zu diesem Objekt siehe:

  • Fritz Fremersdorf: Rheinischer Export nach dem Donauraum. Ein Beitrag zur Wirtschaftsgeschichte der römischen Kaiserzeit. In: Laureae Aquincenses memoriae Valentini Kvzsinszky dicata. Band 1 (= Dissertationes Pannonicae. Serie 2, Nummer 10). Budapest 1938, S. 168-182, hier S. 175: "Fundort und Museum Aquincum bei Budapest. Büste eines lächelnden Knaben mit Eierkopf und abstehenden Ohren, auf rundem Sockel."
  • Janos Szilágyi: Aquincum. In: Paulys Realencyclopädie der classischen Altertumswissenschaft. Supplementband XI, Stuttgart 1968, Sp. 61–129, hier Spalte 125 schreibt: "In A[quincum] gefunden ist die Büste eines lächelnden Knaben mit Eierkopf und abstehenden Ohren aus weißem Pfeifenton, in welchem der Kölner Meister SERVANDVS arbeitete (Fr. Fremersdorf LA I 175)."
Wichtig: Anders als es bei Szilágyi den Anschein hat, ist keinesfalls nachgewiesen, dass dieses Stück von Servandus stammt, auch wenn die Farbe des Tones ungefähr passt. Fremersdorf, auf den sich Szilágyi dort bezieht, nennt die Büste nur als Beispiel für eine Kölner Produktion, nicht speziell für die des Servandus.
