T he gray appearance ofthe fluoroscopic image which very oftenmakes the fluoroscopic examination ofheavy patients difficult or impossible iseffectively checked. Examination of this shutter reveals that a decidedly bet-ter and clearer fluoroscopic image canbe obtained with this improved shutterand shield. The screen itself is abso-lutely flexible. It can be placed in anydesired position and the area coveredby the fluoroscopic tube and shield islarge enough that the entire trunk ofa patient can be examined fluoroscopi- cally without shifting the patient. For radiographic work the screenarm can be removed. After changingthe high tension switch the radiographictube can be used above the table andall radiographic examinations feasiblewith the thirty ma. radiator type Cool-idge tube can be made accurately andsecurely with a minimum loss of time
