English: Title: Artist Santiago Calatrava created "Wave," a sculpture installed outside the new Meadows Museum Building on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, in 2002
Physical description: 1 photograph : digital, tiff file, color. Notes: According to the university, "Wave sits in a pool of water that reflects the motion of the sculpture, its movement achieved through the rise and fall of 129 individual beams, each 6 inches by 6 inches by 26 feet, and each weighing approximately 441 pounds. The beams, made of reinforced hollow steel with a quarter-inch thick coating of bronze that gives the work its characteristic bluish patina, were manufactured in the artist's native Valencia, Spain. Their wavelike motion is controlled by a single motor and a series of gears that allow the beams to ascend and descend a span of six feet."; Gift; The Lyda Hill Foundation; 2014; (DLC/PP-2014:054).; Title, date and keywords based on information provided by the photographer.; Forms part of: Lyda Hill Texas Collection of Photographs in Carol M.
