    Testa di /. montanus, grandezza naturale. In Italia abitiamo, a quel che pare, le tre specie; una delle quali probabil-mente avventizia. Il /. communis è abbastanza distribuito (quelli dellAlta Italia. /. e. Tschusii;quelli al di là dellAppennino. /. e. italicus), però poco abbondante, sedentario aimonti destate, da dove discende nel verno; sarchile raro nelle Provincie meri-dionali, ma lebbi da parecchie località e luccisi in Sardegna. Il /. monilinus si trova certamente sulle Alpi, ma non ho materiali sicuri; Tav. 18.

Dirò come Tschusi opiniclic tale specie si trovi sulle nostre Alpi, probabilmente sotto La sottospecie P. m.tinnì hi a tts e /. in. accedens. Del /. borealis dirò che due esemplari di Nizza e di Corsica della mia Collezione sono indistinguibili da quelli di Norvegia, essi furono veduti anche dalloTschusi e da Hellmayr che vollero esaminare la mia ricchissima serie di /. paIt/stris Europei.
