Our line diverges to the left from that toTrieste and traverses the undulating district of the Karst (p. 248).Beyond four tunnels we reach (331 M.) Killenberg (1545 ft.), witha fine view. At (335 M.) Dornegg-Feistritz (1330 ft.), which isoverlooked by a ruined castle, the Feistritz (Bystrica) issues fromthe hill in a copious stream. Near (341 x/2 M.) Sapiane (1400 ft.) theline tunnels through the watershed between the Adriatic and theQuarnero. It then descends to (349 M.) Jurdani (1120 ft.), with alarge cavern. Beyond a tunnel we have a view to the right of theisland of Cherso and the sea. 355 M.
