Title
awl
Description
English: A spalled fragment of over-heated flnt with an original ventral surface and thermal dorsal surface. The flint is altered to a grey brown opaque colour. It is pointed at both ends and has been finely abruptly retouched at one end to make a drill, which could be hafted by using the other end as a tang or as an awl if held in the fingers. Butler(2005) illustrates a piercer on a blade on page 129, fig 54,2.
