Title
awl
Description
English: A twisted flake of opaque grey brown flint with truncated flat facets on the left margin and a notch at the distal end forming a point, with the sinuous line of neat semi-abrupt and abrupt finishing retouch meeting it from the right margin. The hollow scraper formed in the right margin is blunt enough to be a fingerhold when using the point for piercing as an awl. Butler(2005) illustrates an awl on page 129, fig 54,1.
