Title
Awl
Description
English: Flint awl, triangular in plan and rod shaped in profile. The dorsal side has a central mesial ridge joined mid left to end at the distal tip. The proximal end is broken. Both the left and right margins are serrated with a notch on the upper side of the right edge. On the ventral side the left margin has retouch scarring.

The flint is translucent dark brown in colour, possibly from Beer Head. There is gloss on the left margin.

Butler (2005) illustrates a similar example on page 169, Fig. 71, No. 4 which is dated to the Neolithic period.
