Title
Awl
Description
English: Flint awl on a flake that is a parallelogram in plan, convex-concave in profile and bi-convex in section. The distal end is speed and jagged. Both dorsal and proximal ends have been snapped. The distal end has two points which might have been used as awls and there is another at the proximal end. Cortex remains on part of the right margin of the dorsal face. The flint is dark grey with pale mottles. There is secondary cortex and it is likely to have derived from a local beach pebble.

Butler (2005) shows an awl which is not dissimilar on page 129, Figure, Number 1.
