Title
Awl
Description
English: Flint awl, almost round in plan and rod shaped in profile. The flint has been bifacially and invasively flaked. There is abrasion on the left margin of the dorsal side and the right margin has been worked to a point. On the ventral side the distal end is hinge fractured.

The flint is translucent and pale brown grey in colouring.

Butler (2005) illustrates a similar example on page 111, Fig. 44, No. 12 which is dated to the Mesolithic period.
