Title |
Awl |
||
Description |
English: A complete bronze awl or tracer, measuring 70mm in length with width of 4mm. This awl has a circular cross-sectioned pointed, but relatively worn/blunt terminal and a rectangular cross-sectioned relatively rounded chisel end or tang. There is some encrustation, possibly a corrosion product on the 'tang' end. Some pocking and pale green corrosive products can be seen on the final third of both terminals but the central area of the awl is in quite good condition and patinated a dark brown/black. This awl is probabaly Bronze Age in date, possibly early Bronze Age. |
