B18167 Roman copper alloy brooch
Description
English: Early Roman copper alloy Langton down brooch, 68mm long, 6mm wide across the bow and 3mm thick. It is incomplete as the pin is missing. It is a long, slender bow brooch with a (now damaged) openwork catch-plate and enclosed pin bar. The bow has a slight central groove. The raised sections on either side are decorated with short horizontal lines.
