Colonel Percival Clennell Fenwick CMG, New Zealand Medical Corps, NZEF, who in 1918 was appointed as Officer Commanding No 1 New Zealand General HGospital. In 1916 the military hospital at Brockenhurst became New Zealand No 1 General Hospital. Part of the Hospital complex was the Morant War Hospital. It was named after the Morant family who had donated land as part of the war effort. During the war the old family home was used as a convalescent hospital for officers, while Morant Hall, on the Lyndhurst Road, became a British Red Cross Auxiliary facility (Convalescent Depot), known as the Morant War Hospital.
