CheeredAlong Baltimore and Ohio ^General Pershing needs more locomotives in France to keep the big Americansmash going until the Kaiser is pushed across the Rhine. The only way wecan give General Pershing the locomotives he needs is for the railroads of theUnited States to take as few new locomotives as possible and thus permit thelocomotive builders to send their product to France. We cannot do withoutnew locomotives unless we keep our locomotives in repair and moving all thetime. I make a special appeal to every railroad mechanic and workman todo his level best to turn the locomotives out of the shops quickly and to keeptheir wheels turning on every railroad of the United States.
